Buc Bulletin Series: Parts 1 & 2
Originally printed in the Oswego High School's Buccaneer Bulletin School Newspaper, 1989.
I used to just draw comics that would humor me and my classmates and annoy my teachers and faculty (because not only was I doing them IN school, but occasionally a classmate or teacher wound up being triggered, or at least alarmed).
However, when a few teachers pointed me towards doing cartoons FOR SCHOOL and the beloved school newspaper instead of just for personal amusement and practice for my desired career as a cartoonist / comic book artist / graphic novelist, I started winning awards.
This series of cartoons won awards for:
1st Place for the Empire State School Press Association (1st Place Best Cartoon of the Academic Year 1989-90)
1st Place for the Syracuse Newspapers High School Press Day (1st Place, Cartoons 1990)
1st Place for the Syracuse Newspapers Editorial Writing/Cartoon Contest (1st Place, Political Cartoon 1990)
1st Place for the Syracuse Newspapers High School Press Day (2nd Place, Cartoons 1991)
1st Place for the Syracuse Newspapers High School Press Day (1st Place, Cartoons 1992)
