Starting in 1988 when 14-year-old Christopher Galletta Stevens drew a comic book in high school study hall to entertain himself and his friends. As hulking monster punks calling themselves “The Mutant Mobsters” take over Oswegonian High, Chrusher has gained a small amount of attention and fame when his exploits as a justice-loving high school vigilante (and his good friend Aaron Terminator’s mysterious passing) get noticed in the high school newspaper and television station. Secondly, the attention has garnered him interest\u00a0between three young ladies – classmates of his, and while one would think that the lustful affections of three well-developed\u00a0teenage girls would be heavenly for teenage Chrusher, his shyness around pretty girls and the attention from jealous boyfriend rivals is anything but for our young hero. Meanwhile, Hitman “RaYzor” Cadildonian is in a race against time as he must try to stop Chris “Crasher” Chassis from telling Chrusher the truth – that RaYzor attempted to destroy Crasher to take his place in the Conquerors as Chrusher’s 2nd in command. He enlists David Scruanot to help. All while Chrusher’s little brother’s friends want to join in Chrusher’s Conquerors, and create super-hero secret identities to impress the older Conquerors.\u00a0One of them, the\u00a0 juvenile named Robbie “Roboman” Reegun, an immature\u00a012-year-old boy – with an unhealthy obsession with evil masterminds in both human history and fiction – dressed up on a metal suit that dangerously emits lethal amounts of energy, and Chrusher is caught in an electric blast that leaves him incapacitated and believed dead. Chrusher returns from his apparent death\/coma and amnesiac episode (because that has never happened before in fiction, right?) to greet his comrade RaYzor, who watched over the Conquerors while he was gone. But something’s wrong. RaYzor has snapped – lost to Welforce, mutinied by the Conquerors, defeated by Obliterator AND Ron Foule, lost most of his luxurious hair, lost what little weight he had, and near suicide, has now turned homicidal, and turned fire on Chrusher upon his comeback! And he isn’t the only one with sights on his death! The saga FINALLY starts developing some of those seeds of the grander plot that have been carefully buried throughout the story thus far (and thusly, most people have all missed). Year Three<\/h2>\n

The 3rd season of Chris’ Crusher Comics (portmanteau is ChrusherComix) began a far more grittier storyline with somewhat more edgy artwork (and far more detail). The greatest growth in art quality is seen between the 1st and 3rd year of my comics, all seen here on this website. Even so, typos (well, misspellings, as I hand-wrote all the text) are often seen, as well as MANY pencil smudges. My high school art teacher – a talented painter whom I greatly respected – appreciated my pencil work, but suggested to me to ink my work to preserve it, to which I did in the following season, 1992. But why would his good fellow\u00a0freedom-fighting friend kidnap and mock him after both have graduated high school and begun their adult lives? And Welforce may have disbanded after the events of Welf-War, but the does not stop RaYzor the Hitman from attempting harm upon Ronald Foule just like his high school days, while\u00a0Ian Babblet is out to assemble new agents. Chrusher has been slowly refining his mysterious and latent telekinetic powers, but seeing “goodness” steadily leaving the normal populace, he has turned from the way of peace and forgiveness that his eccentric, yet God-fearing mother Mare would prefer. Instead, he and his brethren have turned vengeful on those who have wronged them. This starts at the local speedway where arrogant, mildly retarded red-necks with too much disposable income and random Welforce agents stumble upon painful interludes. Beat-downs, pain, hospitalizations, and laughter will ensue. Watch as their enemies finally get a come-uppance… yet do not perish in the sight of what are clearly lethal injuries grievously\u00a0inflicted upon them. This graphic novel is a time-consuming work in progress and is assisted primarily by fan participation (pages read, viral-fan sharing interactions, printed editions sold, votes on voter websites – something that comparatively amateur comics get immeasurably lot more of than I do). This means it is not yet done, and the pace is deeply impaired by the fact that the author has two day jobs to pay the bills. So how can you help? Read the comic (over 1,000 mostly undiscovered pages), buy printed copies, and vote\/rate\/review it on webcomic rating sites. Thank you and come back often!<\/p>\n

It all began in 1988, Oswego High School freshman and young aspiring artist Christopher Stevens started drawing comics in study hall to amuse himself, friends and new classmates. Everyone who read them thought they were a freakin’ riot! They were a hit. AT first, teachers did NOT agree and Chris served a few detentions, in-house suspensions, and even a suspension for his comics. Over time, those skills were put to good use when the high school newspaper decided to bring him aboard for periodic cartoons (that won several top awards in its three years there). It kept going on and off after that.<\/p>\n

Keep in mind, these were done before the internet or smartphones, before affordable PCs or Macs and Photoshop, and 8-bit video games had “state of the art graphics”. Hand drawn on lined school paper, their humble and silly beginnings evolved into an epic comic spanning over decades (Wow, I didn’t feel old until I wrote that. Ow.).<\/p>\n

Chris and his friends NEVER forgot the fun of these comics, and in 2005, he started scanning, remastering, and posting every single one of those comics on a free webcomic host – ComicGenesis. The project took a few years, and was almost completely ignored by 99.99999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999% of all web visitors. Only Chris and his buds read it with great relish, and zero people outside of that read more than a handful of pages (think about how small of a percentage of the story that is? Think about your favorite novel, movie, video game, comic book, or television program? Think if you only sampled maybe the first 1-2% of it and then left before giving the rest a chance? Or you try to show it to someone and they blow it off after a 1% sampling? That’s the way we\u00a0feel when people leave the epic saga undiscovered after a handful of pages. Sure, some of the early stuff from the 1980s and 1990s is helter skelter. Sure, some of it is juvenile\/immature humor and slapstick gory violence. And sure, the new graphic novel is a gritty, international crime thriller with political intrigue, weaved into a love story with lustful sexuality, but it has been on hiatus for a bit (after two 20+ page issues that 99% of web audiences ignore, and when it gets ignored, it makes no money and I have two day jobs)… sure, sure, sure… but what good is not reading it? People leave Welforce undiscovered? Cow and his “Rake Science”? Steven “The Hybrid Renegade Barbarian” Howeird? Jo-Jo “The Bully With…” Bunns? The Welforce version 2.0? The Welphys? The Lunaticials? The sensational graphic novel that I mentioned above – the graphic novel that I always wanted to read, so I made it myself? With around 1,000 comic pages, three main volumes, four eras, and each visitor only read 1-10 comics before leaving, while studiously reading pure drivel comics and giving them much higher ratings and audiences.<\/p>\n

Chris had almost given up. But then he found WordPress and Comicpress\/Comic Easel and decent SEO. He began migrating his old comics, remastering (and coloring) them. And here you are. Will you read the entire saga and then eagerly await new pages? Or will you read a handful, leave, and fap to bad gaming comics, internet memes and your naked trolling exercises? Your choice.
